It is the Pilot Project that allows for temporary entry of foreign workers into National Occupation Classification (NOC) C, and D skill level positions launched in July 2002.
What is National Occupation Classification (NOC)?
The (NOC) is the system used by the government of Canada to code and describe the work performed in Canada's labour market. The system classifies every occupation into a four digit code according to skill type and skill level. Skill type is base on the type of worked performed and skill level corresponds to the type and/or amount of training or education typically required to work in the occupation.
What are NOC C, and D skill level positions under National Occupation Classification System?
The NOC consists of five skill levels, which are identified A through D and O, NOC C,&D skill level position usually require a high school diploma or job specific training: C skill level positions usually require secondary school and/or occupation specific training, or up to two years of on the job or specialized training courses, or specific experience. D skill level positions generally require on the job training, short work demonstration or no formal education requirements in order to perform the job.
